Call for Papers: Springer Journal Climate Action – Ecovillages

Call for Papers

The GEN Research Group in collaboration with the Yeees project has the pleasure of announcing a special section on ecovillages in the new Springer Journal Climate Action

In this Special Section on Ecovillages and other community-led initiatives as experiences of climate action, we look for papers about ecovillages as community-led experiences of (trans)local climate action that address local, regional and global issues. Ecovillages are grassroots initiatives that seek to create and diffuse sustainable lifestyles and appropriate technologies. They can be found in more than a hundred countries, on all continents, and adapted to different social, ecologic, economic, and cultural contexts. However diverse they are, they share the vision of prefiguring an alternative society and developing innovations in the many dimensions of everyday life. This special section will compile the most recent research on ecovillages in different areas of knowledge and in different localities, from the Global North and South. The goal is to reflect on the transformational potential of ecovillages for sustainability transitions in different contexts.

Submissions will be ongoing, but we encourage authors to submit their papers by December 30th, 2021 in order to be included in the first volume 2022, which is expected to have high visibility.

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit Research Articles, Review Articles, Perspective Articles or Case Studies. Interested authors must consult the journal’s guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.springer.com/journal/44168/submission-guidelines. All submitted articles will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Final decision regarding acceptance/revision/rejection will be based on the reviews received from the reviewers and at the sole discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
